To be a human is not easy, for my definition of human rises above just having the human DNA. Being human to me means having loyalty to the human race. We as a the dominant life form on Earth are generally much loyal to small subsets of the Human race. Most people are most loyal to their faith, then family, then to their friends and loyalty to your country and faith can sometimes be fatal ( other wise known as Martyrdom ).
Yet few people take the time to think about where their loyalty to this very human race stands. How much am I willing to sacrifice to help someone out that is not of my family, friends, country or faith? How much would a Muslim Give to a starving Hindu family? Would an Israeli soldier go out of his way to save an Arab Child? Would a Vietnamese woman adopt a Malaysian child? Would you reduce your reliance on electricity, plastics and chemicals that are distrib
uted world wide before really knowing their full impact on our Earth?
Would you change your plans of having 3 children and call it quits at 2 only because you feel that the Earth is reaching its population limits? See whatever the color of your skin or the God your parents had or you chose to believe in, we all breath the same air and all the oceans are connected. The exhaust of your car will eventually reach the asthmatic lung of a poor Indian Hindu child who does not have access to medical care. Eventually your precious car will make your grandchildren carry bottled air, like the factories of yesterday polluted our rivers and we carry bottled water today.
We all breath the same air, but that may not be the case a few decades from now, some will breath bottled air, some will get cancer and some will have birth defects from the chemicals we throw down the drain.
